The movement of water and of its inhabitants is the theme for a lot of my work; a recurring interest, consisting of form of liquid and of the dancing behaviour of light upon the surface. The 'fish' works are as much about colour and the properties of the paper, as they are about their subject matter; they are designed to confuse, appearing transparent, but are in fact created from multiple opaque layers. My work predominantly revolves around the natural world; as humans are impacting more and more on the earth, this theme is becoming ever prevalent. I take particular interest in the force of nature; how even when so little remains, in a short matter of time it is able to reclaim and flourish on the land it had previously inhabited. These works vary between being 2D and 3D and are sometimes in between the two, appearing to leap from the page.
